Aziz Ansari: Buried Alive – Comes to Macky on May 8

Aziz Ansari - Buried AliveProgram Council is excited to be presenting Aziz Ansari. Ansari has quickly established his presence in the comedy world. He is currently starring in a popular television series, is developing a number of films and recently released his second hour-long standup special, “Dangerously Delicious,” online at AzizAnsari.com for $5.  The Hollywood Reporter said that he “has become one of the most prolific writers and performers on the comedy scene in recent years” and Rolling Stone recently placed him on the cover of their special comedy issue labeling him “the funniest man under 30.” In addition, Paste Magazine has named him one of the “Top 10 Comedians of the Decade.” Ansari also has the much buzzed about gig as host of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.

Ansari co-stars opposite of Amy Poehler in the Emmy nominated NBC series, “Parks and Recreation.” The series received an Emmy nomination in 2011 for Outstanding Comedy Series. Ansari’s portrayal of government employee ‘Tom Haverford,’ has earned him much critical praise including Entertainment Weeklynaming him one of their “Breakout TV Stars,” TV Guide naming him a “Scene Stealer” and Yahoo! TV placing him in the number one spot on their list of “TV MVPS: The Most Valuable Performers of the Fall Season.” People Magazine named him 2011’s “Funniest Dude in Prime Time.”

Spring Swing concert rescheduled

The Spring Swing concert has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 2pm at Macky Auditorium.  Your original tickets will be valid for the performance this Sunday; you do not need new tickets.  If you cannot make the rescheduled performance, please contact the box office at 303-492-8008 by Friday, March 1 at 4:00pm to arrange for an exchange or refund.  CU Presents’ normal business hours are Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm.

Enjoy a return to the music of the Big Band era!  The CU Jazz Ensemble will present a tribute to the great Glenn Miller at the 3rd annual Spring Swing.  In addition to Miller’s hits, music from Goodman, Basie, Dorsey, and other terrific bands will convince you the Swing Era is alive and strong!

Good vs. Evil: An Evening with Anthony Bourdain & Eric Ripert

Two chefs. Two unlikely friends. Two very different careers and philosophies sharing one stage.

Join Anthony Bourdain and his good friend, Eric Ripert – internationally renowned chefs, authors, and television personalities – as they share stories and muse on the place of food in our personal, community, and global life. Their Good vs. Evil tour will visit Boulder for one night only, Sunday, April 14th at Macky Auditorium. It will be a truly engaging evening of storytelling and observation, providing frank and provocative insight into what really goes on behind kitchen doors.

Good vs. Evil: Anthony Bourdain & Eric RipertAnthony Bourdain, chef-at-large at New York’s famed Brasserie Les Halles, is the author of bestselling titles Kitchen Confidential and Medium Raw – both hilariously blunt and sometimes shocking portraits of life in restaurant kitchens.
